Shalom Center to receive 2024 Kenosha Area Business Alliance Ovation/Forward Award
Kenosha WI, (February, 2024) Shalom Center will be honored during the Kenosha Area Business Alliance Ovation Awards Dinner on Thursday, February 8 at UW-Parkside. Receiving one of the 2024 Ovation/Forward Awards, Shalom Center is being recognized for having exhibited a history of growth, innovation, and a positive overall impact on the community. Tamara Coleman, Executive Director of the Shalom Center will accept the award.
The Ovation Awards, presented annually by Kenosha Area Business Alliance, recognizes the best of the best companies and individuals in Kenosha County. Shalom Center, a nonprofit organization, is Kenosha’s only homeless shelter, largest food pantry and longest running nightly meal program. It received a $2.4 million donation to add a crisis and community resource center called, Hope Hub, which will celebrate its Grand Opening, March 1, 2024. Hope Hub will provide a one-stop shop for individuals who need to be connected to vital resources.
“I am proud that Shalom Center was selected to receive this award and equally proud of the positive impact we are providing to Kenosha,” said Tamarra Coleman. “I want to thank Kenosha Area Business Alliance and the selection committee for recognizing Shalom Center and more importantly, the people we have the privilege of serving.”
