Soup Kitchen Manager (full-time):
The Shalom Center is looking for a Soup Kitchen Manager to oversee our Shelter and Soup Kitchen. This is a full-time position, with some weekend options. Experience in a commercial kitchen and managerial skills required. Must be willing to obtain safe food handling certification within 90 days of employment. Must be able to work with a diverse population and able to work in a fast pace environment. Soup Kitchen Supervisor (part-time):
The Shalom Center is looking for a Soup Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the kitchen, clients and volunteers during our meals on wheels program from 3pm – 6:30pm. This is a part-time position (max 25 hours per week), with some weekend options. This person must be willing to be flexible, patient, an excellent communicator and enjoy working with a diverse population. Cooking experience preferred, by not required. Food Pantry: Our Food Pantry is always looking for volunteers to support our Pantry operations.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday – 8:00am – 3:00pm – Shop our clients through our Pantry
Tuesday/Thursday – 8:30am – 2:00pm – Food shelf stocker’s and sorters
Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 2:00pm – Warehouse support (unloading produce, goods and food)
Volunteer Driver: The Shalom Center Food Pantry Food distribution center is looking for part-time drivers to pick up food from our local vendors, in our Shalom Center Pallet Trucks and/or vans. Availability is flexible – Monday through Friday, anytime between 8:00am to 1:00pm. A valid driver’s license with good driving record is required. Must be able to lift atleast 25 lbs. Soup Kitchen: Monday – Sunday – 3:30-5:30pm, food servers, and 4:15pm – 6:15pm, kitchen support by washing dishes, washing tables, sweeping and mopping.
