Shalom Center & COVID-19

Last Updated: Tuesday April 21st 2020 5:30 PM

Shalom Center is committed to serving the needs of our community. We are taking active steps to protect the health and well-being of all of our stakeholders: residents, clients, staff, and community partners. We are following the guidance from our public health partners and would like to provide an update with modifications to our programming.

Soup Kitchen:
We will serve out of our main location at 4314 39th Avenue. We will serve a Meal on the Go from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Volunteers should not report to these sites.

We have suspended all of our network site locations (Immanuel United Methodist Church, Christ the King Church, Grace Lutheran Church, Bethlehem Temple, and the Blessing Center). These will be closed until May 26th. We will re-assess the situation at that time. Volunteers should not report to these sites.

KUSD Breakfast and Lunch Distribution Site
Monday and Wednesday 12PM – 2PM (Spring Break Week)
We will be distributing to-go breakfasts and lunches to families of KUSD students. These meals will be distributed Monday and Wednesday from 12 PM – 2 PM.

Food Pantry NEW HOURS: Wednesday & Friday 8:30 – 11:30
We will distribute pre-boxed food to your car and will limit the interactions to keep us all healthy. Additionally, we will serve on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies are limited.

Donations:
Donations are gratefully appreciated. Particular items in urgent need are lunch meat, milk, as well as cans of soup and canned vegetables.

We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the community as we work to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our community. We will continue to prioritize serving the individuals and families in our community. Together, we can continue to make a difference and get through these unusual times.
